Shouldn't I Be Having Bad Luck?

It's Friday the 13th, you'd think I'd have bad luck or something. Of course there is the fact that I really don't believe that sort of thing except for the laughs, so that may have something to do with it.

But, even so, as I promised, I'll link some random history facts that I am learning in my class.

Such as in Brazil in the 1500's, African slaves were arriving at a 3:1 rate to Portuguese, and so that influenced their society. And if I recall from the textbook (I don't have it or my notes in front of me at the moment) many slaves rebelled and formed a large settlement that took 80 or so years to correct. I'll look in my text book and notes to provide more information.

And then there are the poor 117 settlers or so that came to America under Sir Walter Raleigh. They settled on Roanoke Island, and when Raleigh came back in two years, due to the war with the Spanish Armada, there was hardly any trace of them.
I was going to make a joke about how they could have been lifted up like the people of Enoch, but then I read some stuff about how some of them intermarried with some natives and mingled with them... so that joke's dead. Oh well.

Have fun you all!

I thought all those ideas about Roanoke were just theories, and they still don't know for sure?

Well I got that information off Wikipedia because I wanted to read up more on it. But yeah, they don't know for sure.
