Sarah Palin Declares She is the Prophet Tiresias!

Late Tuesday evening Governor Drop-out Sarah Palin declared her ability to see the future like the blind prophet of Greek Mythology; Tiresias. By declaring that she can see November, she declares that she is more than the mortal coil that we peonic humans see her as; she is able to glance upon the 4th dimension and relate what she sees.

Notwithstanding the criticism of of such claims, one only need look around to see that Sarah Palin is indeed the Prophet Tiresias, for while able to see future events, she is blind to that which is around her. One only needs to look at the book that is written by her, and the writings upon her hand to tell that Sarah-Tiresias Palin cannot see reality for what it really is.

Nor should Democrats fear the power of her prophesy. After all, just look at the tragedy of Oedipus and Antigone to know that by listening to such words results in incest, eye gouging and other depravities.

So rest assured Americans, despite Palin's claim to see into the 4th dimension, it won't land her the White House. Just a seat on Jerry Springer.

Violent Protesting

There is something that I have been thinking about since Joseph Stack flew his plane into the IRS building last week. It is not a question of terror, at least I do not think so. But that is not the point.

Reading Stack's manifesto online, he expresses the frustrations that many of us feel. The same outrages that many feel about how Government is ineffective, how Wall Street was bailed out, frustrations about taxes and just how the government does not serve the people, but rather the rich executives and businesses.

We all joke about it, about the elections, about government on one level or another. And while I do not agree with Stack in deciding to try and end human life, I see his point. When I first heard about Stack and his flight into a building, I thought of Shays' Rebellion, the rebellion in 1787 where a lot of farmers rose up against the government under the Articles of Confederation. In fact, because of the rebellion, it helped show some of the flaws of the Articles of Confederation and led to the Constitution being written.

Although I do not agree with using violence, Shays and his fellow farmers used force to close the court houses so judges could not order the collection of debts. Although I am not sure if the tax situation was resolved promptly, Shays did prove a point. In fact he and his rag tag team of farmers were all pardoned in 1788.

Thomas Jefferson said in regards to the rebellion that "a little rebellion now and then is a good thing. The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."

And so while looking at that aspect, I think that Joseph Stack has a point. Yes, it is criminal what he did, and I do not think it was correct to fly a plane into a building, it does not surprise me either. Sooner or later people are going to transition from peaceful protests to violence. If the Government does not restore its image, restore the faith that people place in government, sooner or later armed protests will take place.

So what of Joseph Stack? Yes, his action was wrong, but what about what he wrote? as I wrote above, many agree with many of the concepts he stated. Many have the frustrations that Stack had. The difference between Stack and the majority of the American people is that Stack lost hope in the political process, while most of America still believe things will improve.

I guess my point in writing this is that there is a fine line between patriotic and criminal. Cause certainly Stack's intentions were as noble as those who have proceeded us in the cause for freedom. The wrong execution, obviously, but the message is still true. Something has to change.

So I guess the only question is, when will thing change?

(And feel free to comment and tell me I am wrong. I enjoy all opinions)

Birthday Fever

I was meaning to post this earlier but I didn't have time. I'm pressing my time just by writing it now. But it's my attitude about birthdays. I don't have anything against them, I mean who does? (excepting people uncomfortable with their age maybe?) But at the same time I don't give them due respect.

Not to say that usually when a friend's birthday comes up I won't wish them a happy birthday and celebrate with them if they're doing something, but when it comes to my own birthday I tend to keep it on the down-low. For example, last year on facebook a month before I hid my birthday on facebook so that no one could see it. And then I went up to Kearns and hung out with some friends as if nothing else was happening. And then one of my friends afterward got mad at me for not telling them and said we would have gone out and done something different had they known.

This year I practically did the same. I didn't hide it on facebook this year though, but I still did make no plans either. Of course having a birthday on Sunday, moving out Friday evening and staying with a friend until I could move in helped facilitate that. But even so I didn't tell my roommates or anyone at my new ward that Sunday was my birthday. I just let it be a normal day and sat around and relaxed.

But then while just coming to my blog Sunday evening my roommate glanced over and saw the title And I'll Cry If I Want To and asked me about my birthday and when it was. So when I told him he was of course naturally disgruntled that I hadn't told him or anyone else. And another roommate, Benjamin, who is trying to bring us all together as roommates gave me a piece of cake after overhearing that.

So I don't know about my other roommates in the apartment, but I bet they find it pretty odd that I didn't inform them of my birthday.

But why did I do it though? If it was anyone else's birthday I would want to know, want to celebrate with them. But yet I hardly mentioned it. I just made it, until I realized I was being an idiot and contacted a few friends to get together this week, a normal day like every other day; not special.

So I was thinking about why and my slightly hypocritical view of birthdays and realized that one it probably stems from a bit of my lack of self-esteem; that it's not worth celebrating. That may be part of it. I think it also had to with my birthdays in the mission field. Apart from the packages I received the week or so before at Zone Conference I don't recall doing anything special, just going out and working. Though I think on my second birthday in the Mission I did celebrate a bit with some recent converts and had some cake. But that may have been more at the behest of my companion than anything else I think.

But back to the point. I considered my roommates point-of-view and figured that I'd probably think myself as selfish for keeping it all to myself. Luckily there's another birthday in a year so I have that long to change my attitude about it. And it's on a Monday too.

Of course I might just celebrate it a week early so everyone can be there before they all head home at the end of the semester. But we'll see.

And on a completely unrelated note, it is my parent's 26th anniversary. I need to call them.

Missionary Wednesday

Here is the next update in Elders Fields' adventure as a missionary.

Dear family and Friends
This week was loaded down with activity just like last week. Last week in an email Elder B. told the Mission President that if he kept our companionship the same, and let him stay one more transfer with Elder H.; that in that time he could get him 10 baptisms. The Pres immediately replied that his request was granted and all I can say is we had better work very hard so Elder B. can deliver on that promise.
Last week I also did something that missionaries in this mission sometimes do that I have never done before. Wednesday and Thursday night we attended non-LDS church services. Wednesday we went to the Pentecostal church; a church that I had never even heard of before until I came out here. They are very big in the Chicago area but I don’t know about everywhere else. This church was all black; we were the only white people there. It was also very loud with random shouts of joy during the pastors’ sermon. The people there were very friendly but even so, I don’t think I will be going back. I caught a small portion of his speech where he admitted that he didn’t have the power or authority of Christ but he quickly covered that by saying you didn’t need it as long as you followed Christ and did his will.
Thursday night we attended another church, ‘God’s House of Prayer’. This was a small hole-in-the-wall church that looked run down and had very few people there. I don’t think this one extends beyond the local area. These people were also very nice to us and even let us say a few words. In both of these churches I thought it would be easier to pick out the bits of truth among all the falsehoods, but it was actually the other way around. They were both very convincing and now I see how people can be so confused. Another thing about these churches is that just like how some of the doctrines are confused and twisted it’s the same way with the spirit. Our spirit does not reside there but they do have a twisted form of the spirit that to the untrained mind and heart could appear to be the real thing. But the feeling I got there was that it was way wrong even though they were trying to be on the right path. The second congregation was very small but they invited us back and we plan on teaching them all about the restoration. It should be fun to see how that goes.
Sunday we actually got an investigator to church! She liked it and is currently working on quitting smoking. Once she does that a baptism won’t be far behind. After church we went to the south-side Irish St. Patrick’s day parade. This holiday is very big out here, almost like Christmas. Never before have I ever been surrounded be so much degradation, drunkards and filth. The parade wasn’t even that good. We had planned on maybe teaching a lesson or two in the crowd but nobody was sensible or sober enough to really listen and pay attention. Instead we just handed out a few hundred pass along cards and taught mini-lessons about what was on the cards. We figure once the people sober up a bit, the calls will come in and we can teach the elect who would be willing to change their ways. The parade wasn’t that bad actually and the pass-along card thing made it worth going to. Sunday night we checked out our numbers for the district and discovered that we all did flat out amazing. Unfortunately these last two weeks of absolute hard work took a toll and we had a slow start on Monday. Once we got out we started feeling better.
Tuesday night we had a district activity because transfers are coming and we needed a reward for all our hard work. The transfer call came and our trio is staying the same, just as President R. promised. The zone leaders are staying; Elder T. form another area has completed his mission and is going home. Elder K. will be training and new missionary! That’s awesome, this means that I’m not the greenie anymore in the zone and now it’s my turn to have some fun. Hopefully the new greenie will be cool and not a hassle. Sister B is staying and Sister P is leaving, she will be missed, but her replacement, Sister Cl is another sister missionary I flew in with, so she’s cool.
Today we went to Sister C’s again. We talked about how during the time of Christ people only lived for 22-28 years(Editors Note: With some help from Yellow M&M, we found out that the mortality rate is a little skewed due to infants dying young, and that Josephus documented that many lived to their forties and some to the age of 100), so their old and ancient men, and priests, were actually very young by our standards. The second thing was that in the law of polygamy, when it’s allowed, a man can’t just divorce a wife, he has to get permission from all the other wives and they all must dismiss her from the household. Luckily we don’t have to worry about this anymore. 3. When they built the tower of Babble, the Lord wasn’t upset and destroyed the tower just because of that. He was mad because it was actually a form of the temple and they were trying to establish a false priesthood, that’s why he destroyed it.
I am staying in Beverly for at least 6 more weeks with a cool district. I look forward to this next transfer; I will hopefully get some baptisms here soon.

Love Elder Fields.

A Break

The regularly scheduled blogging schedule has been interrupted by a vicious activity called "School Work".

Scientists are unable to determine when it will end and can only hope that the lack of blog posts does not adversely affect the climate, while other postulate that congress might be petitioned for a bailout of some unknown amount.

No answers can be offered at this time, except unless asked in the form of linear algebraic matrix problems.

Made With Love

Two weeks ago Yellow MM gained cookies by default and received them today. The cookies were made last night though, with pictures included.

There was a bit of going back and forth as well. I went to Katydid's to pick her up, swung by the Creamery to buy some things and headed to apartment where we started to get everything organized. It turns out that we didn't have measuring cups, or large enough bowls in my apartment, so we went back to Katydid's to make it.

We started on it, but may have intruded on Katydid's roommates', Heavens To, dinner and she appeared upset that we were there as Katydid had told her that we would be at my place making the cookies. Well we mixed everything together and decided to head back to my place as to risk no further offense.

Here is what the cookie dough looked like:

Lacking a plate to put the cookies on once cooked, we placed them in this:

And with enough cookies soon looked like this:

See, even Katydid likes them:

though she resented a little that I took her photo, I suppose...

But the cookies turned out great, and a dozen were delivered to Yellow MM and a dozen to Katydid's roommates as a peace offering. We'll see if said peace offering was accepted.

Also Wally III has stated I cannot participate in "Singles Awareness Day", that I am banned. I promptly told him that I would be participating in a better holiday; "Making Singles Self-Aware Day."

And in terms of stuff I blogged about before, I do have a job now. I'll expound later. I am also have contacted the company that sent me the textbook by mistake. They said they would send me a return mailer thing, but nothing has showed up thus far. Odd.

Albeit Wednesday?

Well Alishka Babushka did a letter thing the other day, and offered to give out some letters, so I requested jeopardy style to buy a vowel, and got the letter A.

So This is: An Arrangement of Averred inAanimate Assets that I Appreciate.

1. Apples! Totally delicious.
2. Appositives. I don't know why. It just sounds cool.
3. Apples to Apples. That game is hilarious to play.
4. Age of Empires 3. I got it for Christmas and I am just getting into it.
5. The Aaronic Priesthood.
6. Abe Lincoln. That is one funny comic. He was also a good president.
7. Being Ablush. Well not really, I just do it a lot.
8. Abnormalcy. Without it, we'd all just be normal.
9. The Abolition of slavery. That's always a good thing to enjoy and be grateful for. Although if slavery were still legal today, then I'd probably have my own share of slaves since my Dad's side of the family comes from Mississippi and the deep south. Well, had my Grandparents not moved out to Utah, I'd probably have slaves waiting hand and foot on me. So tell me again why it is good when they could do my homework for me? (In case anyone gets offended, I am totally kidding.)
10. Antibodies. Need I say more?

And like Alishka, I will be handing out letters to those who want them. Giant, you get F. The rest of you can have a different letter if you so choose.

You Should Know This Already.

Yeah, every so often I take a moment to comment about how people have found this blog by searches and what not, but c'mon, enough is enough.

Some person found my recently by googling "Who is Edward of twilight dating?". Shouldn't you this, I mean Edward is dating Bella of course.
Well actually, technically he is married to her with some little half undead growth hormone monstrosity. So I guess this does bring about new mystery, Who is Edward dating?
I mean now that Bella is undead and all, she no longer has that savory juicy steak smell. Sure he can spend all day in bed with her because they don't get tired or anything while Jacob plays baby games with his wife to be. He only has to wait a year or so before she become 'legal' right? But heaven forbid if a half-vampire can have children. The possibility of a half wolf-shapechanger, half, or fourth, vampire is just too grisly to imagine. But this isn't about Jacob's future with a half undead abomination where there are probably dozens of fanfics about their adventures and all, this is about who Edward is dating.

Sure the obvious thought, as I stated before, is that he would be taking his wife Bella out occasionally. But lets examine this thoroughly. Edward and his family clearly have more money than they know what do with, they never tire, Edward is no longer attracted to Bella the same way he was before because she isn't human, and as Bella has human ties for the next forty years or so, Edward has to do something while she is visiting the in-laws right?

Obviously the person who googled this saw something up in Forks, and thought that since the media reports on every minute of every celebrities lives, especially when being unfaithful; that the person clearly thinks that Edward is two-timing Bella.

Maybe that is why Edward never hooked up with that one vampire from Alaska, she wasn't human and thus not his type. We know he traveled around, and that he was in Italy for a few days preparing himself to walk out of the 'Vampire Closet' so to speak. (And now there will be dozens of fanfics about gay vampires and gay Eddie. Joy.) So maybe while he was in the shadows in Italy he met a young Italian female who had a nose for trouble and he ended up saving her life. We all know how this ends up, she falls in love with Edward because she smells like a superb Italian meatball, and this time he can read her mind so he knows if she'll reveal him. Although it does add up more if she is another extremely private person, so he can't read her mind. After-all, we know Edward is into that sort of thing, feeling human by having to guess like any other guy, so most likely that is the case.
Also Edward knows now with his experience with Bella to not turn her to be a vampire; not only would she lose the superb Italian meatball smell (which is far better than some girl from Arizona would smell I wager, no offense female Arizonians) but if the young Italian chick were a vampire, it would introduce all sorts of problems.

Of course as he is in Italy, and since the Voltari are there as well, the young Italian mistress might make a good peace offering since those dudes collect gifted vampires and act like the Mob.

This does also add insight to why Edward feels like he is going to hell, it's not because he's a vampire, but he's clearly been helping the Voltari on the side, a free-agent of sorts. Only with Bella he could resist and decided to keep her to himself, which is why the Voltari were angry in the first place, because Edward should have handed her over, but didn't.

So there you have it my good Google searcher, Edward clearly is double timing Bella with some privately minded Italian flirt, preparing her for the Voltari. After which he'll move onto his next target.

So to all the ladies in the world, here's hoping he can read your mind, if not, you're next. Well after me. I know too much and he has to eliminate me now.

Of course you could have been asking who Robert Pattinson, who plays Edward, is dating. My answer, I don't know nor do I care. You can surely Google it to find out. That's what you did to find this blog you say? Right. Well he's obviously following Edward's footsteps and recruiting naive, talented, young females for some underground organization.

Knock on Wood

Ok, I have sounded negative here. I am sorry. To make up for that, I'm going to jinx myself by saying that things could only get worse if I had Chickenpox. Which I haven't had yet.

Also, Slinkies are fun.

Just Following the Crowd

Well... I was thinking about doing it with exuberance and make it over the top... maybe I still will...

1. What did you do in 2008 that you’d never done before? I had my first girlfriend. I also walked on the moon looking for that space Nazi military encampment.

2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I have no clue what goals I set last year, or any resolutions I may have made. So I will say that No, because the world isn't under my control, and I have to try harder this year.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth? Well... there are a few girls I went out with... Nah, just kidding, No one I know has given birth.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Me. I have yet to rise from the metaphorical grave, but I am working on it.

5. What countries did you visit? None of them will let me in anymore due to suspicious circumstances of my visits, so sadly enough I did not visit any countries last year. I think I'll try to sneak past the Canadian border this year.

6. What would you like to have in 2009 that you lacked in 2008? Self control, a realistic view of myself, to be a better person, and One Million Dollars. Or a small country.

7. What dates from 2008 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? The 24th or 31st of January last year... I don't remember which and it is no longer that important. And I'll say the day I found the Board MB.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? I survived. I also stopped working at Walmart. (They were tired of me planning assassination attempts on my superiors to get promoted.)

9. What was your biggest failure?
I failed to start my campaign for the 2024 Presidency.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? I may have only gotten sick a little. Of course the full answer depends on if insanity is an illness or not.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Peace of mind. It hasn't arrived yet though.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
My good friend Alan. He merits plenty of celebration.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? My left hand man Gary. He lost that shipment of Nuclear warheads. Also, there is my own, for internal D'art-like battles that still are being waged privately to this day. For those of who know what that means, I am winning, but not by much.

14. Where did most of your money go? Evil scientist experiments, er, um, I mean school.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
The start of Fall semester I was really excited. And then I lost it after.

16. What song will always remind you of 2008?
Whatever song was being played when the Hindenburg went down.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder?
A little happier.
b) thinner or fatter? I think a little heavier.
c) richer or poorer? At the moment, richer.

18. What do you wish you’d done more of? Schoolwork and studying. Also a little more flirting on the side could have been nice.

19. What do you wish you’d done less of? Worrying. Procrastinating.

20. How did you spend Christmas? With my family, and not attempting to kidnap and ransom Santa Claus.

21. Did you fall in love in 2008? Yes. I think I still am too.

22. What was your favorite TV program? House and Smallville.

23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year? Hate? Nope. Except Sasquatch, but that is because he won't pay me back the money he owes me.

24. What was the best book you read? Still reading it, but Tale of Two Cities has been good.

25. What was your greatest musical discovery? I am still looking actually.

26. What did you want and get? Good friends.

27. What did you want and not get? Everything else.

28. What was your favorite film of this year? Iron Man, or the Dark Knight.

29. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? Hung out if I recall, and I was 22. I'm 25 now. I'm not sure how that happened though.

30. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? That is so loaded a question that I think the moon is falling out of orbit.

31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2008? My what now?

32. What kept you sane? I never was, and am even further from sanity than the year before.

33. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? I dunno, let's say Anne Hathaway.

34. What political issue stirred you the most? The election coverage and Gay Marriage.

35. Who did you miss? Peeps from Mexico, my soul, the cute red headed girl...

36. Who was the best new person you met? Bob, Chilly, Fred, Yellow M&M, and the others from the mb.

37. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2008. Just put your trust in the Lord and do it! And I don't think he wants me to conquer the world...

38. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year. Any song about a redo or a second chance would fit. Maybe a song with a time machine in it.

Operation Christmas: Day 12. And other Stuff.

Not much to say tonight, delivered them and went on my way, wasn't almost caught. Or maybe I was? Who knows.

Anyways, it's been great doing this. I've had fun and I am glad that I could share it with you. Have a Merry Christmas.

Also, to any people who care about this sort of thing; My heart has been beamed up by aliens. They are performing the semi-annual defenses. Basically this means that when my heart is put back in, if you do have hopes at getting to it, means getting past a solid iron curtain, a brick wall that is several feet thick, with Adamantine plating behind it. No one is sure what is behind the adamantine plating though, only one person was able to get that far, and she only managed a glimpse beyond and didn't get further. She also exiled herself from the city to a secluded place that is rarely visited, except for the frequent skier, or so I am told, to the gift of pen to describe what unfathomable horrors she witnessed to produce the next best seller.
There is a deconstruction crew that hangs around. But thus far the only help they've given is pulling back the iron curtain somewhat. Although there is rumor that they are easily influenced by baked goods. But seeing how they are lazy, you'd have to catch them on a good day, which is quite rare, and they are prone to pulling tricks.

That and the deconstruction crew, and other maintenance crews have been called to work on a huge project together; the reconstruction of the metaphorical Humpty Dumpty. It seems that the eggshell of life has received one too many chips in it and it's gone and cracked wide open. So all units have been called to salvage what they can. It means also that the Aliens get to put in electric fences and landmines since no one will be paying attention to them. They haven't been able to achieve such feats yet as those defenses have been banned by common law.

So the point being, if your goal is to get past all that to the heart, you have to either be superwoman, or work harder than a fake sixteen-year-old Chinese Olympic gymnast to even have a chance at breaking through.

Although... there is word of a hidden, backdoor somewhere. But not one knows where that is. And that option is too horrible to even describe. Lets just say there are various construction workers who have gotten lost over the years who have been found mentally broken and driven completely insane, on all 10 dimensions of existence. No one knows what guards the door, but it is apparently to make a grown make fall down on cry, and shatter his self of personality on all the known dimensions of time and space. (and quite possibly the unknown too)

So a word the wise, find another heart worth capturing. One whose soul that hasn't been put in flasks and desecrated by four year old girls. It's for your own good.
By the way; I'd help but I locked myself out without a key or a spare a few years back. I'm not even sure if I can find the back door.

Trivial News of the Day

For all you history buffs and lovers of trivial knowledge, let me just say to you that Monty Python humor isn't forty years old, but centuries old.
To quote the news article:
For those who believe the ancient Greeks thought of everything first, proof has been found in a 4th century AD joke book featuring an ancestor of Monty Python's Dead Parrot sketch where a man returns a parrot to a shop, complaining it is dead.

The 1,600-year-old work entitled "Philogelos: The Laugh Addict," one of the world's oldest joke books, features a joke in which a man complains that a slave he has just bought has died, its publisher said on Friday.
Story continues below ↓advertisement | your ad here

"By the gods," answers the slave's seller, "when he was with me, he never did any such thing!"

So now we all have the excuse of studying greek humor when watching Monty Python.

Wind Interference on the Ninth Hole.

Ok, I get it, I need to update this. I mean, I can't have this be like my journal where I only update once every three months or so can I? No? I thought not.

Brief updates before I get to the main subject, school has started, yippee, the insurance company may decide to just total out my Geo, which if granted the fair value, means I get $775 or so for its value, if good, it means I get $1100. Wow. I am surprised, I thought it was worth less than that. I have also read Breaking Dawn, so expect a post about that, just to annoy my sister.

As it turns out, me and a girl who lived in my ward last year, Raquel, went on a date last night to the mini golf place on 8th North in Orem. That was fun, I don't remember our scores, but I'm pretty sure she won, I let her though by hitting the ball more times than was necessary. She may have known that. We also stopped counting after we hit the ball 5 or more times, and yes that did happen a lot. Especially the hole with the sloped hill and water/pond danger. Our balls kept going in it.
Then the wind decided to pick up and blow the golf balls some, and make the small flags go wild on us. So much we decided to call interference due to excessive wind. You hear that wind? We're on to you!
Anyways, Raquel is cool, and is an English major (I know a few of those, including formers as well) and I found out that Edgar Alan Poe was a player. That's right, the guy with the raven that says nevermore, he was a player. Apparently he wrote love notes to married women while he was engaged. So we talked about literature, movies and the like. It was fun. Oh, and bismark, she's a cute Asian. (ha ha ha, well half Japanese.)

Well, I have now updated, so all you that were complaining now have your wish. As for the others that read, I want your input too!
