The rhythmic breathing. Steady. Sure.
Fallen asleep in his arms. Peaceful.
Enjoying a moment of eternity.
He awake, wondered at his luck
his fortune to be with the woman of his dreams.
She, embraced in the comfort and protection of his arms.
Looking down saw the beauty;
The curved smile, the angelic face.
Beauty seen when given more than a look.
Skin so soft, love so deep, eyes that sparkled,
eyes that twinkled with a knowing smile
In on the secret of love
And there she lay.
Peaceful, lovely, innocent.
and he, the luckiest man alive,
this he saw, this he knew;
his fortunes, his luck
all during a moment in eternity.

Risks
Sometimes you just have to take a risk.
Something crazy. Something wild.
Something that makes feel all sorts of crazy.
But something that just makes you happy.
Something that you know it will be worth it
Something that is crazy, exciting and thrilling.
Sometimes it is worth knowing the risk was worth it.
For seeing a smile meant just for you.
For being there and seeing into the eyes.
Was it worth it,
To see, to feel, to get to know?
Yes, yes it was.
Cause the smile meant for me,
the laughter caused,
the feel of the hand,
of just getting along.
No awkwardness...
What can I say? Sometimes you just have to take a risk.
And sometimes the risk pays out greater than expected...
And sometimes you just hit the jackpot.
Something crazy. Something wild.
Something that makes feel all sorts of crazy.
But something that just makes you happy.
Something that you know it will be worth it
Something that is crazy, exciting and thrilling.
Sometimes it is worth knowing the risk was worth it.

Thankfulness
Well, I am at a cousin's house on their computer, so I am not going to do another 100 Grateful Things post, as I don't know how much time I have before I'll be kicked off.
But I am grateful, very grateful. I've been learning about the history of my family, and I am grateful for them and their sacrifice. My direct ancestors on my dad's side arrived in Virginia in the 1630's, with some traces of some pilgrims from Plymouth Rock. I am grateful for their sacrifice and what they fought for, even those who fought and served for the Confederates.
Anyways, I hope you all have a most splendid day. Have some most excellent fun.
Also, apparently I will be going with a friend or two to watch the chaos of Black Friday tonight. So I'll post pictures.

180°
Just to be brief as I am out of time at the moment.
I find it interesting that even though everyone has their own issues, their own problems, we don't consider those people like that. I mean you do a search for a name in facebook and you can come up with with over 500 people that match that name. Or, in my case, in boredom I was browsing random BYU groups, reading stuff on their discussion boards and even looking at some people's pictures but beyond that I didn't consider them at all beyond the picture presented. Just some abstract face I don't know and am thus indifferent too. That over the internet I would treat as indifferent, or maybe less than dignified. So I was just glancing, wasting some time until I clicked on a girl's profile, a fellow BYU student's profile that I had viewd and noticed she had a blog.
Now being the blog reading type that I am, I clicked on the link and began to read, expecting some attempted humor like I do occasionally, something to poke fun at all the stress that goes on. But that isn't what she wrote. I won't say what's going on, except suffice to say that's she's been having a rotten summer so far.
And reading it made me feel guilty because just a few moments ago I was just casually brushing by her facebook profile as if she were nothing at all.
And then I came to the realization that every single person has something going on in their life, some problem. And I've been too focused on my own blunders and getting back into school in the fall that I lost track of what is important, how I should be treating others, how I should be helping them instead of objectifying them or filling my day with trivialities.
It is a metaphorical slap in the face for me to man up and get doing what I am supposed to be doing instead of focusing on my own past blunders.
So I hope that in the future I express more optimism for the future, that as my attitude changes that this blog reflects it.
And so for those of you I know, I apologize for the times I have slighted you, big and small and hope you'll forgive me.
Sincerely Sam, the Nanti-SARRMM

A New Hope - No Sith Lords Allowed
Sometimes the smallest and most surprising thing can make your day. It's been roughly a year and a half since I returned from my mission, and have fallen out of contact with most of the people I knew there, but yesterday to my surprise, one of my friends and people I helped convert e-mailed me and we e-mailed back and forth a bit.
To give a bit of background, Marisol is an independent young lady, who is an English teacher, she's about 25 or 26 if I recall, but was afraid of what her parents would say or do if they found out she became baptized, because they were very active Catholics.
So to help her out we taught her in the houses of members, which helped her get to know some of the members too. Well she also was having boyfriend problems, who viewed the church as United States thing and was against the country as well. This was also my last area, and so as her parents found out, an argument with a love-struck RM, and with pressures from her boyfriend it appeared that she would slip into inactivity.
In the last few weeks of my mission, that RM was upset that she wasn't going, and thought that we as missionaries did not do our jobs because she was going inactive, and that it would have been better to have not baptized her at all as, in his opinion, she had major doubts.
So as I left, it looked as if she would get married to her boyfriend, most likely in the Catholic church to appease her parents and it did look that she would not be coming to church again.
Well now two years later it turns out that not only did she not marry the bum (She had told us a little of what was going on between them) but she's active and has even entered the temple.
So I just want to say that it is spectacular, and that for those of you who have served or about to serve, that you just need to do your best, and do all that you can and you never know what great things will come of it.
And it appears that only one person wants cookies?

Changes; Past and Present.
Today was my second to last final, for Honors English 150. (Yes I know I am crazy for trying to follow the Honors program.) Anyways, for the final we watched a movie called The Weeping Willow. We had to write an essay comparing the movie to our lives.
It is a film about a blind University professor, Yosef, who has to undergo surgery to be able to see. Before he has the operation, he makes a pact with God that he will serve him if he does see.
Yosef, however when he does see, he becomes withdrawn, the beauty in the world that he had from the other senses disappeared, and only sees ugliness around him. He takes the view that he wants to live his own life, be independent, claiming that he was miserable being blind. However it is when he can see that he truly becomes blind to what really matters in life, and the beauty all around us. He defines the past on recent experiences, and lives in the past, not in the present, and not even knowing what he really wants.
So what about me then? I just wonder which things I am blind to, and how in the past I have let my past personal perceptions of myself define me. Am I like Yosef where I say that I was miserable because I now am happy? Am I in reality making myself miserable by focusing on past mess-ups instead of what I have now, what I have achieved now?
It hard for me to put this in words, cause some of it I do and need to stop doing. Such as defining myself based on past failures instead of past successes, and confining myself to what happened then, and thus I don't allow myself to go forward. I guess this is just a type of remainder that I cannot dwell on the past too much, and I have to go forward, doing all I can to grow and expand my comfort zone. It's hard of course, but it is better than sitting around doing nothing all day, playing video games.
